Statement from Comptroller Candidate and City Council Member Brad Lander Reiterating Call for Governor Cuomo to Resign

“The latest details about Governor Cuomo’s repeated misconduct towards women and abuse of the power of his office are deeply disturbing and reaffirm why he should resign. The evidence we continue to learn about the ongoing bullying, verbal abuse, and toxic work environment fostered under his leadership make it clear that he should not continue to lead our state.

“It’s good that the independent investigation is moving forward, and I have a lot of confidence in Attorney General James’ leadership. But Governor Cuomo has already lost the trust of New Yorkers, and if he has any remaining concern for the leadership that New Yorkers need at this critical juncture, he should resign. If he does not, the legislature should begin the process to impeach him.”

Lander first called on the Governor to resign on March 1.
